Monday on our way to Berchtesgaden

Got up and went to the rock, crystal, gem store and it was amazing. Here's a gigantic amethyst geode with quartz crystals growing out of it!

And some more pics from here:

We drove on towards Berchtesgaden and saw sights such as this:

When we got into Berchtesgaden it was like the Wisconsin Dells...tons of traffic and tourists and we almost just passed through, but we wanted to see a few things so looked for a gasthaus. Many were full, but we finally found one. It wasn't the nicest place that we've been...but it was still clean so we stayed there. Walked to a restaurant where I had fish and Leo had jagerschnitzel and bier naturlich! We were really tired today so came back and went to bed. By the way, the bed was really low to the ground...15" ...and when I had to get up to go to the bathroom during the middle of the night I had an awful time trying to get out of the "cot" bed. I had to rock back and forth to get up enough momentum to launch myself out of bed!

  1. yeah, i remember berchtesgaden as pretty crowded. but if you took the winding road higher up onto the hillside, it was actually pretty peaceful up there with a great view of the valley. hope you guys have better luck tomorrow!!
